Beeldenstorm is a melodic death/ groove black metal band hailing from the Northern Suburbs of the Mother City of Cape Town, South Africa.

The project took seed during the December/January holiday season of 2009/2010 within a small group of like-minded individuals. By the crossover between 2011/2012 a full line-up was assembled consisting of Waldi van Hunks, Lea Aus Nord and Michael Jones. With the addition of Stephen Jones and Hilton Olivier, the project came to fruition.

The name 'Beeldenstorm' translates directly as 'iconoclastic fury' and refers to a revolution that happened in the Netherlands during the 1500's and 1600's. During this time, different religious factions came into revolt against one another, leading to the massive destruction of religious architecture and iconography. As with the Beeldenstorm revolution, Beeldenstorm the band aims to inspire an uprising against all structures that are impeding the progression of individuals within society. We do not promote destruction for destruction's sake, but rather destruction in order to rebuild our magnificent humanity. Beeldenstorm does not advocate for or against any religion, culture or race. Beeldenstorm is for us all.

Beeldenstorm has played events at R.O.A.R, Aandklas, Zula Bar, Banned Rock Lounge, HandleBars, Klein Libertas (Metal4Africa Winterfest '12) and Rock the River NYE 2012/2013.

Beeldenstorm is currently working on an album whilst continuing to appear on stage.​
